EM Stain 77 is a staining solution designed for EM staining, offering a non-toxic genuine alternative to uranyl acetate with a blend of lithium and tungsten salts in water. Stain 77 effectively enhances both positive and negative contrast. Contrast results, after enhancing with lead citrate, match or even surpass those of uranyl acetate. In case where Uranyless may not deliver optimal results, Stain 77 serves as an ideal alternative to aqueous Uranyless.

Stain 77 ultra-thin section positive contrast protocol involves:

1. Apply a drop of Stain 77 for 1-2 minutes
2. Drying
3. Briefly rinse with distilled water
4. Drying
5. Counterstaining with lead citrate for 1 minute
6. Rinsing with distilled water and drying
7. Observe section using a TEM
