The Karate Groover is a precise scoring instrument for substrates such as glass plates, cover slips and a silicon wafers along a straight line.
It is capable of scoring materials with a thickness of 0.1 to 2.0 mm. It allows for cutting of glass, microscope slides, cover slips and wafers to the desired custom size.
The system is built on a sturdy base plate with accurate guiding rods to move the cutting disc to create the grooves. It utilizes a long-lasting cutting disc which can be precisely adjusted in height and includes a spring-loaded pressure regulator. The sample can be freely positioned on the base plate. To keep the sample in a stable position, two magnetic plate guides with rubber surfaces are supplied with the Karate Groover. This tool is available in 4 sizes. A useful tool for breaking the samples after using the Karate Groover to scribe the surface are the wafer cleaving pliers.
